Some figures problems in Scientific workplace

Post by TheDestroyer »

Hello guys,

I'm new to this forum, and I feel that I'll find the answers to the questions and problems I'm facing :)

I'm new also to scientific workplace, I've done a lot on it, and so I'm designing statistical physics lectures, and so far everyone says it's nice :)

The previous link shows the document I created, I'm facing some problems with it, which are the following:

1- I can't number figures independently, Which means that figures contain unnumber captions, and so I used "Display" to number them with equations. Can anyone tell me how to number them independently?

2- When I number figures throw display equations, the number becomes in the bottom side of the picture, I tried to mess a lot to get the number in the vertical center side, and finally I succeeded in applying that to figure 1.3.8 in page 15 in the PDF, but I couldn't now how that happened. Can anyone please give me the steps to do this?

Thank you

No solution to your problem but an organizational matter. The link you provided doesn't lead to the document. Please upload it as attachment to the forum server by using the according tab right below the input window when posting.

Oh my god, I'm very sorry, this stupid web provider doesn't support opening links from out side. I couldn't upload it to the forum in the first place because it's large 690 KBs.

Thank you for you answer, but could you please tell me why isn't there a solution for my problem? could you please explain more? I mean in what sense, what else can be done about it.

Everyone working with LaTeX told me that LaTeX numbers figures automatically, why doesn't this happen in Scientific Workplace?

Thank you

I do not use SWP thus I'm not familiar with organizing floats. There should be the possibility for inserting images and putting them into a float environment instead of a math environment. The help function of the program should give you information about that. Otherwise there may be a user specific forum for issues like this.

Hello,

Open the Graphics Properties dialog box for one of your figures. Under "Layout" click Floating. Then go to "Labeling" and enter your caption in the form field.
