Math & Science ⇒ Problems with the exponents of Real Numbers

Hi,

I'm trying to express a k+1 dimensioned Real number. I do this by doing

$\mathbb{R}^{k+1}$

but doing this gives me some weird displays: k becomes '||' and 1 becomes the infinity symbol.

Does anyone know why this happening?

Without detailed information it's difficult to say. Could be a font or input encoding issue. Reduce the problem to a minimal working example (MWE).
