F5 - Cannot execute command.

Post by rado »

As the title suggests, when trying to view the output of the compiled PDF file by pressing F5, I get the message "Cannot execute command."

I checked the output profiles, and the directory to my Acrobat Reader 8 is correct.

Any suggestions?

Has the output pdf file been created?

Yes, it has, and I can view it, but I always have to click on it and have my working folder open. F5 is far more practical.

Well, I simply solved the problem by reinstalling MiKTeX and TeXnicCenter. Trivial solutions always work. Thanks for the reply, anyway!

Better late than never: simply save your work in TeXnicCenter, close TeXnicCenter, re-open TeXnicCenter and re-open your LaTeX file. You should then be able to once again use F5 to get pdf.
