Best chart format for LaTeX from spreadsheet

Post by sierra1bravo »

Dear all
I want to import several charts from OpenOffice Calc. I created the charts, and since Calc has no direct graphics export, pasted the graph into OpenOffice Draw, and then exported the selected graph into PNG for eventual import into LaTeX. This works, but the quality of the chart is poor (the output is meant for printing at a press).

Some questions in this regard:
1. What is the best 'route' for getting a chart from Calc into LaTeX

2. What dimensions are appropriate for the chart in Calc?

Thanks in advance

sb

Hello,
try to export a vector graphic (e.g. EPS). Vector graphics can be scaled without losing quality.
