open a second

Post by robin »

Hello.

I would like to know how we can open a second file (by clicking on him) and do not open the program a second time, e.g. open the second file in abas on the bottom of Miktex, without use de menu File->Open... When I do this I open the program a second time.

Thank you

First of all it would be lovely to know which editor you use with your MikTeX distribution?

If you use TeXnicCenter, you can simply drag the file to the already open window, and drop it there - then the file opens in the same window, as a new tab. Probably many other editors will do the same by this drag-and-drop trick (if you don't use TeXnicCenter).

I'm not sure that it is possible simply to click the file and open it while also telling it to open in the old window...
OS, LaTeX-system, editor: Arch Linux 64bit, TeXlive, Kile | Windows 10 Professional 64bit, MikTeX 4.9, TeXnicCenter 2.02 64bit
