General ⇒ Sorting and other BibLaTeX issues

Does anyone know why BibLaTeX doesn't sort bibliography?
I tried sort=nyt but still bibliography items are sorted in the same order they appear in the doc....
(I can't show you a minimal example because I use LyX and I NEVER have been able to make any bibtex thing work outside LyX because of some problem in the Windows .bib files path which I tried thousands of times to fix - but this is completely unrelated to the problem above)

"In the same order as in the doc" is unsorted: what are you expecting to see? Sorted is (for example) authors a-z or titles a-z.

Of course, I would like to obtain any kind of sorting, better if Author a-z & Year ascending. (I wrote "sort by appearance order" cause I thought unsorted meant leaving the order in the .bib file, but I don't like any of them)
This is the line in preamble:

\usepackage[natbib=true,style=verbose-trad2,sorting=nyt,hyperref=true, backref=true]{biblatex}
