Has anyone got Andre Miede's classicthesis working with Lyx?

CTAN: View package information - classicthesis

Latex noob alert (though I have an up to date and active Ventura Publisher on my system).

How do you install Latex classes so that Lyx can see them?

I have Lyx and have MikTex installed on a PC and on a Linux system and working and I think I have grasped most of the basics and can produce what I want. Although the setting done by the basic layouts, including Koma-script and Memoir produce decent enough output, I find long documents which are mostly text and quotations produce output which is accurately laid out but pretty ugly and old-fashioned.

This guy has done quite a lot of work and really understands typography (there are no bold type headings in his style, some headings set smaller than their associated body text and he has properly implemented small caps) but I can't see what to do with the files that unzip from his archive and since scattering them where I think they fit in MikTex and Lyx directory structures, Lyx can no longer complete a reconfigure, though it doesn't fall over on anything I've touched.

As this class is not widely used, I recommend that you ask the class author directly. It is fairly unlikely that some other user of this class uses LyX and visits this forum.

I made a LyX version of Classic Thesis and it’s available here:

It’s a great thesis style.
