table of contents without contents

how do i generate the table of contents without the whole file being generated?
i just want to send my toc to my supervisors but the actual content is still a work in progress so i don't want that attached to the document.

Just compile your document as usual and extract the pages containing the ToC with Ghostscript/GSview.
