Hi all,
I am currently working on a document of about 150 pages containing a lot of theorems, proofs etc., which means that the the navigator (and particularly the objects tab) contains a lot of information.
It seems like TexnicCenter updates this information automatically every 10 minutes or so. This takes quite some time, during which I am not able to build the document or (sometimes) scroll the dvi-document.
This gets rather annoying, and will be even worse when I shall put together my whole thesis. Does anyone know of any way to disalbe the periodic update, or to set a much larger interval, or possibly some other fix?
I have tried closing the navigator window, but this does not help.

Re: Periodic update of navigator takes much time
It's updating because it's autosaving.
Go to 'Tools|Options...|File' and either set a longer autosave time or disable it altogether (but don't blame me if you forget to manually save and lose 2 hours worth of work when your computer crashes 8) )

Re: Periodic update of navigator takes much time
Thank you for your reply, craigm - it was of much help
It seems like the navigator is only updated on autosave and not on a manual save, which explains why the autosave takes much more time than the manual save (I thought the autosave did exactly the same as a manual save. Since the manual save takes little time I did not believe the autosave could be the problem.)
I have now set my autosave interval to 60 minutes, which works well for me.
