Some questions on table of contents

Post by spiderchee84 »

I'm working with my thesis now and I encountered some difficulties in formatting the table of contents:

(a) How do I make the word "Contents" in the center?
(b) I want all the other entries to be left-aligned. Currently there is an indent for subsections.

Thanks.

Some questions on table of contents

Hi,

you forgot to include some vital information (the document class that you are using). Anyway, take a look at the titletoc/titlesec or tocloft packages.

You might also provide which university you are writing for---under some circumstances, a document class or package may exist that does much of this type of thing for you. (It's worth a shot, anyway.)
