TeX Live and MacTeX ⇒ TexLive 2008 NetInstaller - Resume after disconnect?

Hello LaTeX Friends,

as a newbie i wonder if it is possible to resume the installation process of TexLive 2008 after my network connection has been disconnected? I use Ubuntu Linux Version 8.10.

Or maybe there is a whole other way to store the downloaded packages in a temporary folder?

I want to use the NetInstaller, because i have read that Koma Script Version 3 is only available with this installer and not via the ISO File way.

You would need to download the content of http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/ ... 8/archive/ and use that as the installation source (with option -location; you might need to retain the 'tlnet/2008/archive' directory structure, but I'm not sure about it).

Edit: You will also need tlnet/2008/tlpkg/texlive.tlpdb database file.

Why not just install from ISO and use the package manager to install/update Koma Script afterwards?

I suggest to restart the installation process. Perhaps the installer is able to find out the progress of the former effort on its own. If not, it will start a new installation from the beginning and just overwrite the existing files.

the pearl script sees if the installation has been aborted. it starts to check all files copied in the temp folder so far and then continues with the rest.
