Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Texmaker on win running, tex file not open

Hi,

I am using Texmaker in win for a year or so,
never seen this before. The .exe file does not
open the main window, while the program is running!
I cannot open any .tex file.
I re-installed Texmaker, problem persists.
Note that there is no virus and I want to
avoid re-installing miktex.

Not really optimistic, but anyway:
If anyone has experienced anything similar..
please drop me a line

ps. I cannot find any log file to check
