Appendix numbering ... how to get an Appendix B?

Post by Charmaine »

Dear LaTeX gurus,

I am typing my biology thesis and wish to have an appendix which begins with letter A (e.g. for Chapters:
A Chapter 1
A.1 Section One
...

(this one is easy, just use \appendix)

then I wish to start an Appendix which begins with letter B (e.g. has :
B Chapter X
B.1 Section Y

..... etc

The reason is that I have to segregate my work into stuff which is marked (Appendix A) and that which isn't, but needed for support (Appendix B).

Can anyone help me please,

hugs and kisses

Charmaine

I'm not sure if I understand you right.

Code: Select all

\appendix
\chapter{First Appendix}
  \section{Section One}
  \section{Section Two}
\chapter{Second Appendix}
  \section{Section One}
  \section{Section Two}
If that's not what you want, be more precise.

Thanks Thorsten,

I have tried this and this works fine ... this solves my problem. I didn't realise that an additional chapter would roll the label to B - this is my first time with LaTeX.

Many thanks again

hugs and kisses
