Others ⇒ MusixTeX question regarding page breaks

Hello,
I'm new here, but hoping someone may know the answer. I am using MusiXTex with the Bagpipe package to set some music. I am trying to insert a page break for a long piece of music. I am using the \alapage command, but when I try to force the page break at the end of a line that has a second ending (\voltabox), the next page starts with an empty bar that spans the width of the page. Then the rest of my music starts on the next line. I've tried every possible placement and combination of commands but cannot get rid of the blank bar.

Has anyone run into this before or know how to prevent it?
