Transparent colors in pstricks
I can not use transparent colors in pstricks.
On the page:
http://www.tug.org/PSTricks/main.cgi?fi ... D/examples
I copied the entire original code for "Coor type 2" 3d15.tex and I made a 3d15.pdf file on my computer. Colors are regular instead of transparent as they are in the original file 3d15.pdf from the same page. (opacity=0.5 does not take effect)
I attached 3d15.log if it helps.
Can anybody please give me some advice?

Make sure that you have the latest versions of both pst-3dplot and pstricks-add. Your log file says that you use older versions.mateja wrote:I can not use transparent colors in pstricks. [...] Can anybody please give me some advice? [...]

Re: Transparent colors in pstricks
Thanks for your hint, CrazyHorse. It was not much, but enough.
I uninstalled TeXnicCenter.
I reinstalled Ghostscript and GsView.
I installed TeXnicCenter again (automatic installed output profiles)
Now I can see transparent colors. The problem was an old version of Ghostscript i think.
I have to do some 3d pictures (intersection of a sphere and plane,...). My pictures will be much better now.

Re: Transparent colors in pstricks
Hi,
I'm a Ubuntu 8.04 user. How do I do to update pstricks-add and any package in general. I went to the package page, as localghost suggested, but I can't figure the way... My computer-science skills are not enough to do it.
Using Kile, I've obtained the following error: Package xkeyval Error: `opacity' undefined in families `,pstricks-add'. ...
Thanks
JC

http://www.dante.de/~herbert/PSTricks-TDS
or download the complete tree
http://www.dante.de/~herbert/PSTricks-TDS.tgz
There are the same subdirectories as in your local tex distribution.

Thanks,
I've downloaded the PSTricks-TDS.tgz file, but now I don't know what to do with it. There are about 50 files with a very similar name in my computer. Which ones do I have to replace?
thanks a lot!

Transparent colors in pstricks
you can simply copy all files into your existing TeX Directory Structure.jotacebusta wrote: I've downloaded the PSTricks-TDS.tgz file, but now I don't know what to do with it. There are about 50 files with a very similar name in my computer. Which ones do I have to replace?
For example: /usr/share/texmf/
or for texlive: /usr/local/texlive/2008/texmf-dist/
from this level you have the same subdirectories.
It is also possible to copy only some of the files.
If you do not know, where your files are saved, you can get the
directory with eg: kpsewhich pstricks.tex

Re: Transparent colors in pstricks
Thanks again Herbert, so I did:
kpsewhich pstricks.tex
/usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/generic/pstricks/pstricks.tex
That means that I have to put all the contents of PSTricks-TDS in the /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/generic directory?
thanks again,
JC
