TeXnicCenter and Windows Vista

Post by SWE »

I installed MiKTex 2.6 and TeXnicCenter 1 Beta 7.01 under Windows Vista. If I start TeXnicCenter, occurs the error report "TeXnicCenter does not function anymore". The loading process must be aborted on that there. How can this problem be solved?

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

It's not good to post the exactly same question in two different forums. TeXnicCenter in the current version has not been developed for Windows Vista. So complications are predetermined.

The solution

Hello,

I found a solution for the problem. You have to install the update KB927978 (MSXML 4.0 SP2) for Windows Vista.
