Dear fellow Lyx users,
For years I have used Lyx with no problem on previous mac computers. I got the usual Gatekeeper issue ""LyX" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." and the workaround always worked (i.e., open the application with Control key and eventually it asks if "Are you sure you want to open it?", and that's it).
But this workaround no longer works for me. It will simple give me the same message of ""LyX" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." I have been unable to find a way around it. I bought my new Mac in March 2012 and it runs on Big Sur, it techincally belongs to my university. Without lyx in my computer I am fried, and haven't been able to circumvent this seemingly "easy" issue. Any help would be super super appreciated.
Thank you,
Alejandro

"Lyx can't be open" issue on New Mac running on Big Sur
IMHO this is mainly a question for a Mac OS forum, because it is a Mac OS problem with opening unsigned applications (many more notes about this can be found on google, bing, startpage, duckduckgo etc.)
Sorry, but I can no longer participate here as the administrator is trampling on my wishes on one of his other platforms.
