Hello. I'm a new member who is a beginner at learning LaTeX. I just started reading the Beginner's Guide by Stefan Kottwitz. I am working on mathematics papers, so I need to learn enough LaTeX to submit them.

I'm happy that you read my book. If you have any LaTeX question, possibly related to the book as well, feel free to post the question(s) here.

While my book gives a quick start to the basics, here are some recommended readings for math paper writing, via texdoc.net:

• voss-mathmode: excellent comprehensive math guide (CTAN)
• amsmath manual
• mathtools

I can currently not find any mathmode on TeXdoc and the version of mathtools listed there is not the current one.

It seems to be removed or moved within TeX Live. Seems that's because it has been marked as obsolete. With a very new TeX Live installation (made yesterday) I don't get it too:

texdoc -l mathmode

TeXdoc has been updated, moved to TeXdoc.org while I kept TeXdoc.net a while active, now it's the same and current.
