APA Citation Style (LyX/Citavi)

Post by ThiesQ »

Hi all,

I am forced to use APA-citation style (or sort of) for my Master thesis. Cites should look likes this ".... (Kaplan and Norton, 2018, S.45)".

I already found a style quite similar using standard Bibtex option in LyX with apalike-german citation style. Problem is, that I get it compiled with square brackets [Kaplan and Norton, 2018, S.45] instead of curved ones as above.

If it matters: I am handling my cites and bibliography with Citavi and exporting it from there as .bib file to read-it-in to Latex. The handling of the bibliography works fine, it is just the citing style.

Can you give me an advise? I tried to find solutions via google already, but the ones coming near were for straight Latex and handling the bibliography inside Latex/Natbib.

Thanks in advance

Thies

APA Citation Style (LyX/Citavi)

Post by ThiesQ »

Hello,

found the solution myself with some work-around. Using Natbib instead of Bibtex I get by default the curved brackets, but the author's name is not inside the brackets, but outside (using the LyX cite funciton). Instead of the LyX cite function I am using TeX Code now with \citep[p. 1-2]{Kaplan.1992}.

Thanks
