LyX ⇒ can't add style files for "modern CV" document class

I was trying to use ModernCV document class in LyX, but when I opened a sample LyX file, it showed a warning that the packages ebgaramond.sty and fontawesome.sty were missing.
I followed the instructions from LyX customization on how to add LaTeX files. I installed the packages and placed them in the local LyX tree usr/local/share/texmf. The next step is to tell LaTeX that there are new files, so I used the command texhash as root user and reconfigure and restart LyX. However, the packages are still missing when I open the sample modernCV.lyx file.
What can I do to use the modern CV class properly at this point? I am using Ubuntu 20.04. Thanks in advance.
