Change date format to German

Post by bolshi »

Hi.
I'm using LyX 2.3.5.2 on OSX 10.15.6. I'm a teacher from Germany. So I want to change the date format. The standard date format is '%x'. How do I get a date like '02. September 2020' or '02.09.2020' instead of 'September 2 2020'?

Best Ingo

Change date format to German

Change language to German. With LaTeX this would mean to load package babel with option main=ngerman. In LyX you should be able to change the document language via menu entry Document → Settings, but I'm not a LyX user, so I would suggest to have a look into the manual.
Sorry, but I can no longer participate here as the administrator is trampling on my wishes on one of his other platforms.
