Copy and paste slides

Post by summer2k19 »

Hello. I am learning to make slides with Lyx.
I wonder if there is a way to copy one slides and paste it (with the format is kept), so that I just need to revise the content? I feel it is quite time consuming whenever I make a new slides, I need to go to "Insert --> separator from below";
and also sometimes I want to change the position between the slides and it would be much more convenient if I can cut-paste slides.
Thank in advance!

Copy and paste slides

Post by Stefan Kottwitz »

Welcome to the forum!

I used LyX sometimes but I'm more a LaTeX user so I assume LyX can do copy & paste but I don't have it here to look at it.

But: .lyx files are text files, you can open them with a text editor and copy and paste slides there and save it. Then you have the result in LyX. Like quickly doing 10 slide copies in the text editor and then working in LyX on them.
