Unusual footnote scheme:

Post by wwzeitler »

I'm doing a translation of the NT. In too many cases there will be multiple footnotes per verse, the net result is a LOT of distracting footnote numbers in the running text. I've seen other translations do something like this:

Code: Select all

3. Blessed are the beggars in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens. 4. Blessed are those mourning,
For they will be comforted. 5. Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.
-------------
3. "Blessed" lorum ipsum. * "beggars" ad minim veniam. * "spirit" dolor sit amet.
4. "mourning" consectetur adipiscing elit, * "comforted" sed do eiusmod tempor.
5. "humble" incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
I don't what this is called so I can't even search for this feature. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
