Where to put .sty file (apacite.sty ) ?

Post by gao1 »

Hello, I used Lyx a lot many years ago and recently decided to try it again, because I love the way it makes PDFs.

I am using Ubuntu However I am having a problem with APA.lyx template. I installed Lyx and then after some searching, installed texlive-publishers (through a terminal install, i did not move it or anything) I believe it is installed into USR/share/texmf.

Still Lyx returned an error saying Apacite.sty was missing. So I found that file in a apacite zip file and unzipped and ran the .ins file to finally get the apacite.sty file.

Now where do i put this file. because I have tried putting it in the texmf folder texmf/tex/latex/lyx and Lyx still does not find it.

Is it possible that Lyx is not reading the textlive-publishers install at all? How do I get Lyx to find this file?

You should not install it manually. Install Ubuntu package texlive-bibtex-extra or better texlive-full. BTW: AFAIK best APA conforming can currently be reached with biblatex and the biblatex-style apa.
Sorry, but I can no longer participate here as the administrator is trampling on my wishes on one of his other platforms.
