I recently installed Lyx (2.3) on Linuxmint/Ubuntu.
It works but the preview and the export is only possible in Lyxhtml and not in .tex or .pdf ?!?
I installed also tex-base of course.
I see also that a lot of models are missing...
What's wrong in the installation !?!
What can I provide to you ?

Impossible to export to pdf

welcome to the forum!
If you got enough harddisk space, I recommend to install texlive-full. So you don't have to worry later about missing packages and searching in which package bundle it may be. That may fix it.
You could provide the .log file to us, that LyX/LaTeX produces. It can be posted as attachment here. The "Attachments" link is below the text edit field, when writing a post.
