How to get a newly installed font to be used by Lyx?

Post by martinjh99 »

I have just installed the Charter font package into Miktex in Windows. I also updated the font maps using the Miktex console...

How do I get Lyx to show the fonts in Document/settings/fonts ?

Also can I use any of my installed TTF/OTF fonts?

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Welcome to the forum!

For using your TTF/OTF, go to the menu Document→Settings→Fonts and choose the option Use non-TeX fonts (via XeTeX/LuaTeX). Then you can immediately use View→PDF.
