scanned the web for hours - but could find no instructions on how to implement those macros (i.e. bunch of def, fd, rme, & sty files) on windows based LyX. Where do I put these files? What to add in the preamble if anything? None of this is mentioned in macro documentation...Specifically I'm trying to use the mathbbol macro for math symbols that (I think) are unavailable by default (like "Scott brackets").
If you can tolerate this level of noobness, please help ...
thx!

macro install on LyX
If your LaTeX set up (MikTeX) already features the packages needed, just load it in the LaTeX preamble in LyX -> Document -> Settings as you would in plain LaTeX.
If you have installed the needed packages later or if they were not part of the default installation then run LyX -> LyX -> Reconfigure to let LyX search for new packages (I am not on Windows so I do not know whether you have to do some setup in MikTeX before that, on Unix this is called tex hash I think) and restart LyX. The packages should now be available.
Maybe this page may also help you? (However, I think that with the new LyX version coming up this page will be outdated soon)

Re: macro install on LyX
thx!
however LyX does not display the result WYSIWYG
the brackets i need are \llbracket
the end compilation comes out ok...but no workspace preview in LyX.
Strange the the WYSIWYG engine of LyX does not support this...
