LyX ⇒ Preview images

Goodmorning everyone. I introduce myself. My name is Pierluigi Facchin, I live in Padua, Italy. I deal with the history of music. I write books. I use Lyx 2.2., Texlive 2017, Windows 10. I'm not a Latex expert but I understand enough. I have a problem with preview images. When I work with Lyx and load tif images I see them immediately but when I load PDF images it tells me: "There was an error when converting to a loadable format". However, the compilation is successful. I need to always see the preview images in order to control the work I do. I'm looking for help. Thank you.

welcome to the forum!

The LyX graphical interface (libraries) supports bmp, gif, jpeg, pbm, pgm, ppm, tif, xbm, mng, png and xpm. Other file formats need converters. Check: Edit→Preferences→Converters. Those could be ImageMagick or GhostScript. In case of PDF you may check the GhostScript version, take a look at the section "Problems loading PDF graphics" in the article "How LyX handles figures".

Thanks Stefan. I have another serious problem with Lyx. it does not open anymore. Error message arrives: TIFFReadDirectory Unknown field with tag 59932 (0xea1c) encountered. Fatal error. I'm ruined.

That's an ImageMagick error, it is not LyX related. Perhaps remove TIFF images in the document for the moment.

A new problem with lyx 2.3.2-2. he has no class.
