LyX ⇒ Table of contents not appearing in correct language

Hello all!

First of all I should say that I'm completely new to LaTex and LyX. I've been facing a problem for a while now, and since my time is running out I thought I'd post here in search of answer.

So, when I write in LyX my thesis in Greek, the table of contents and chapter titles all appear in Greek, as I want them to. But when I make the pdf, the table of contents appears in english characters. I've been trying to edit the preamble to fix this, but when I make a change there it seems to break everything. I'd appreciate any help, or if you could point me to a relevant guide (perhaps about language typesetting).

I realize this probably seems too general, I am looking in the help files but so far I haven't found a way to isolate where the problem might lie.
