Installing a beamer theme

Post by lyxer »

Hi,

I'm trying to install a beamer theme (beamerthemeAmsterdam.sty). I placed it in the theme sub-folder where
all other themes are. I also run "Refresh FNDB" but when I compile the file I get the error:
[ file "beamerthemeAmsterdam.sty" not found]. I'm not sure what the problem is? If I choose a different theme in
the same folder it runs fine. I found the same problem on this link but did not understand the solution:

Installing a beamer theme

Hi Saleh!

It's hard to say without actually looking at your computer. You did the right things, copying to the theme folder, and refreshing FNDB.

An easy alternative way would be copying beamerthemeAmsterdam.sty into the folder where your .lyx document is.

Thanks Stefan, the alternative works.

It's just weird why it didn't work when I copied the theme to the folder.
