Theses, Books, Title pages ⇒ Master/Doctoral Thesis : Additional chapters without counter

Hello,

I am trying to make a modification in my thesis but I have been unsuccessful using your amazing template.
I would like the General Introduction and the General Conclusion to have the size of chapters but not preceded by "Chapter x" (or putting it differently I do not want these chapters to be counted among chapters). In addition, I would like the General Introduction and the General Conclusion to be included in the Table of Content. I have tried different approaches (including starring these chapters) without success.

Instead of having :

Chapter 1 General Introduction
Chapter 2 First chapter
Chapter 3 Second Chapter
Chapter 4 Third Chapter
Chapter 5 General Conclusion

I would like to have :

General Introduction
Chapter 1 First Chapter
Chapter 2 Second Chapter
Chapter 3 Third Chapter
General Conclusion

It would be very helpful if you could provide an example

Without knowing which template you are using, try \addchap{general introduction}
