Positioning of Tables on Float Pages  Topic is solved

Postby mayankmi » Tue Jul 16, 2013 4:20 am

I want to put tables one after another. But in second page they are with some gap.

  1. %\documentclass[final,authoryear,5p,times,twocolumn,sort&compress]{elsarticle}
  2. \documentclass[final,3p,times]{elsarticle}
  3. \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
  4. \usepackage{booktabs}
  5.
  6. \journal{NDT\&E international}
  7.
  8. %for figure at top of blank page
  9. \makeatletter
  10. \setlength\@fptop{0\p@}
  11. %\preto{\@tabular}{\parskip=0pt}
  12. \makeatother
  13.
  14. \begin{document}
  15. \begin{frontmatter}
  16. \title{Paper Title}
  17. \begin{abstract}
  18. \end{abstract}
  19. \begin{keyword}
  20. NDT \sep Data fusion \sep Mechanical parameters \sep Bayesian \sep Uncertainty
  21. \end{keyword}
  22. \end{frontmatter}
  23.
  24. \begin{table}[htp]
  25. \caption{Range of parameter values for granite}

  90. \end{tabular}
  91. \label{tab:etrust}
  92. \end{table}
  93. \end{document}

I know one option is to use H instead of htp. Is there some better option?

Reason: Code reduced to a proper minimal example (see Board Rules). Has to be done by oneself.

You could use the subcaption package. Below is a code stub.

  1. \begin{table}[h!t]
  2. \begin{subtable}{\textwidth}
  3. \caption{Caption first table}
  4. \centering
  5. %tabular
  6. \label{tab:tab2}
  7. \end{subtable}
  8.
  9. \vspace{20pt}
  10.
  11. \begin{subtable}{\textwidth}
  12. \caption{Caption second table}
  13. \centering
  14. %tabular
  15. \label{tab:tab2}
  16. \end{subtable}
  17. \end{table}
