could not get malayalam in lyx
If you are using the LyX version from the default Ubuntu repos of 14.04, that will be very old. Please install 2.3.0 from the Ubuntu LyX PPA. Note that LyX does support Malayan (see Document > Settings > Language). And please answer Stefan's questions.

Europe CV Class: LaTeX Error: Option clash for package inputenc.
LyX comes with an example file for EuropeCV. It's called "europeCV.lyx". I suggest you use that as a basis.
Good luck!

Note that LyX has a "Verbatim" environment. You can select it in the upper-left drop-down box in LyX.

Windows Binaries
I don't think there are official or unofficial binaries yet for 2.2.4. There has been some progress towards official Windows binaries. There's still some details to work out. I would suggest checking back in a couple of weeks.

In addition to Stefan's questions, do you get that error if you try to compile a new document where you just type "hello"?

There are unofficial binaries available that have been made by a LyX

users work well. The LyX 2.3.0 installers (both the bundle and the

New features in LyX 2.3
However, I am using LyX under Windows. Do you have an estimate when LyX 2.3 binaries would become available?
There are unofficial binaries available that have been made by a LyX
developer (the same who has made the RC binaries and the official binaries for the recent official releases), that ...

Output date-insert format in 2.2.3
Hi Scott - You were absolutely right about the date format needing changing - many thanks.
I'm still puzzled as to what has happened. I keep a preferences file in my "userdir" which I had assumed was a safe way of preserving my preferences across upgrades - is this not correct?
I can see why you ...

Output date-insert format in 2.2.3
My guess is that you changed the preference in your old LyX version and you have not yet changed the preference in the new LyX version. See the help for the date-insert function under Help > LyX Function. It suggests changing the format in Preferences under Tools > Preferences > Output > General ...
