I am switching from texniccenter to texmaker, but epstopdf will not work on texmaker for some reason. I am getting
'epstopdf' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
However I have both --shell-escape --enable-write18 in the command line for pdflatex ...

Please change your application to use following servername for Acrobat/Reader instead of "acroview" try the following:
For Reader X Use DDE_SERVERNAME = acroviewR10
For Acrobat X Use DDE_SERVERNAME = acroviewA10 ...
