Oh, it's just a matter of switching the order of fields in FUNCTION{article} so that the date appears in the front. Although this way, I have to edit each of the publication types.

Though now I have to figure out how to get rid of the month in format.date.

Editing .bst to change order of fields

Hello,

I'm manually editing my bst file. So far I've done formatting of each field, but now I want to change the order of my fields in bib entries. For instance, instead of

Jackson, P. J., My title, Journal name , 38(4):1516-9, Apr 2000.

I want it instead to appear as

Jackson, P. J. (2000 ...

Thanks @localghost (for some reason that sounds local-G-host in my head, and I realised it could be local-ghost/ghoul) and @meho_r :)

I haven't got my head around how to organise my files (images, chapters) for my thesis. I'll look around the forums in a while to see if anyone's been discussing it ...

hello!

Just joined up today. Been using TeX for a while, but only for short articles which are usually very easy to do. Now I've got to write up for my PhD, and it's the first time I'm chopping up a TeX writing project into different files. I'm a bit flabbergasted at the moment. But I'm learning...
