I have yet to find a solution to this, but I did go to Tex a document on my mac and noticed that in the mac version of Lyx, this behavior is absent. If you put in commands from a nonstandard package, the red text appears as long as you are in mathmode, but when you exit to resume typing ...

Unwanted Red Text in mathmode
Hello,
I am curious if there is a way to remove the red text that gets put into mathmode when you use a package not standard in lyx. For example, when I wish to use a dsfont character and the improved right/left parens of mleftright, in the lyx window I see
