Thanks for workaround.

I have a slightly different but related problem: PDF preview with "pdfview" works but is very slow, while with "AcroRd32" the Update mode does not work.

With the default setting of Viewer to "pdfview" (under Tools -> Preferences -> File Handling -> File ...
