Design page layout in LaTeX...

Well I couldn't find the original template for this page format: http://arc.aiaa.org/doi/abs/10.2514/3.5 ... lCode=jgcd (i.e., two column, engineering notes top left and an underline to the right...) So I've been trying to create my own version of it...and it isn't going well. Has anyone any example...

AIAA Latex Template - Engineering Notes

I was wondering if anyone had seen the latex template for the `engineering notes' - as used by AIAA. The template they share is just the standard format, and doesn't look like this one: http://arc.aiaa.org/doi/abs/10.2514/3.56105?journalCode=jgcd (i.e., two column, engineering notes top left and an ...

Section headers - graphic with rounded borders..

Season greetings everyone, I've been thinking about doing a section header - or even some macro or easy package to create a formatting like the one shown in the figure: howinlatex.jpg Any ideas on how to specify an image then have it formatted this way? Without me having to open up a drawing program...

How create scalable comparison grid?

Good morning everyone, I've been trying to create a comparison grid for a list of data - however, I wanted the columns to resize automatically each time I add a new type (e.g., see the attached image). Showing ticks/crosses/question marks for features. Is there any simple examples that produce a gri...

How put figure caption on top of image?

Hi all, I'm trying to do it, so for certain figures - I can specify the position of the figure caption so it sits on top of the image? So for example, the caption for the image would be in the top left box on top of the image (i.e., numbering etc would still work) - you say offset, width and height ...

Re: \twocolumn - gap penetration?

Hey Johannes,
thanx for your help.

Eventually, I came across the '\sloppy' define for \twocolumn - which if I set, I can fix the overlapping of the gap - also the \tolerance define.

Thanx again,

Ben

\twocolumn - gap penetration?

Hi all, I'm not sure what is causing this - so I thought someone could point me in the direction of what is causing it. Basically, I've added \twocolumn - and it works okay for most of the book - however, on occasion, I get the odd few words intersecting the column gap. So any ideas what would cause...

latexdiff - how ignore \newcommand regions?

Hey all, I've been tinkering with 'latexdiff' - I have it working, but I'm comparing two large files with lots of subfiles in folders, but need to exclude specific regions, as it prevents latex generation: Are there any simple examples of how to ignore a `newcommand' I specify in a macro? For exampl...
