I had the same problem on Windows. You have to save the file with .tex as extension. That worked on my windows machine. Maybe this will work on Mac too.

I was not alone with this problem. It was already mentionned on antother thread in the forum.

I uninstalled Texmaker and reinstalled it. Now the problem is solved. I think I did not uninstall the previous version before installing version ...

I see now that I wrote a wrong version number. This was not my intention. My excuses for that. Fact is that the bug exists since version 4.01. I just wanted to report that.

Reporting a bug

I try to report a bug in Texmaker 4.01 and I am accused of sending spam. Bad support. I'll have to look for another editor. Any suggestions? My OS is Windows 7.

When you save the file with an extension the syntax highlighting disappeared. Close the file and re- open it. Syntax highlighting works again. I reinstalled version 3.5.2. This version works perfect.

Babel warning in MikTeX 2.8

Recently I installed MikTteX 2.8. When compiling files I always get the warning:
"No hyphenation patterns were loaded for the language 'Dutch' I will use the the patterns for \language= 0 instead".
On my laptop, also with MikTeX 2.8, I don't get this warning. As far as I can see all the setting are ...
