I'm having the same problem. I searched on the net and found this: http://www.mentby.com/bruno-cocciaro/elseartice-on-lyx.html
It seems that MiKTeX downloads an incomplete package and you need to download it from elsewhere. It is annoying that the incomplete package is still there though - I'm new ...
