I thought it is a firewall first, but it is not.
Inverse search works correctly only if the file where it needs to go is already open in one of the tabs.
Otherwise it for some reason launches a new instance, instead of opening it in a new tab.
Of course the master document is not defined there, you ...

Texmaker 1.8 claims:
A new instance of texmaker will no more be opened while using "inverse search" (the program can only be started once per user).
However, for me it still launches a new instance (running on Windows). Does anyone know how to solve it?

No surprise the crowd is taking, and hardly giving something back. In the case of Windows platform it is a curse. I doubt you can get a patch or any other sort of software development from an ordinary Windows user. Luckily you'll get a few bug reports and some activity (mostly whining) in forums ...
