LyX ⇒ Lyx & El Capitan
Re: Lyx & El Capitan
Oh, perfect! Doing what bobbydd21 mentioned worked perfectly for me too. Apart from the fact that I don't have the option "PDF (pdflatex)" but only "PDF (LuaTex)".
NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

Lyx & El Capitan
Really glad to find this thread. I attempted to follow these instructions but ran into a problem. When I reboot and go into Recovery mode (via holding Command + R at restart), I cannot find Terminal under Utilities. All I see are disk images. Please help. I cannot find the terminal to follow these instructions. How do I unlock the Terminal feature in Recovery mode?bobbydd21 wrote:Worked perfectly. Specifically doing this (which was mentioned in the link):
"if one goes in
Settings\File Handling\File Formats and selects “PDF (pdflatex)” in the second
to last dropdown menu in the settings, the one saying “With TeX fonts”, that
makes the icons “live again”, at least it did work for me, hope it does for
others too!"
Thanks!

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
I've installed LyX 2.0.3 and the problem still persists. On both the most recent version of LyX and the two versions of LyX that I've installed, this issue occurs. Screen shots of the issues are attached.

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
This is the error I get when opening the LyX 2.1.4 and open a new file.

Lyx & El Capitan
Hi Jacob,
welcome to the forum!
Did you read TeX on El Capitan and the PDF with instructions there? Did you correct the settings for the path, and how?
I only can see that LyX doesn't find your TeX installation (the document classes) but not what you already tried.
If anything fails, I think re-installing MacTeX 2015 could fix it, as I read at that linked information.

Thanks! I had found that article and was just about to post that resource. I followed those instructions down the line and they fixed the problem. I downloaded the new MacTex and followed the El Capitan manual and it fixed everything.
Thanks!
Re: Lyx & El Capitan
I am having this issue where I can't insert symbols if the menu opens above the bar, I can only insert if it opens below. I made a video so you can understand. Is anybody having similar problem? I tried to reinstall Lyx several times and didn't solve the problem.

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
@PEMAMETAL I have exactly the same problem, I found that a solution is to resize the window once I have opened the toolbar I am going to use. This solution is quite annoying though, has anyone found a better solution?

This has been fixed for LyX 2.2.0
Any interested in testing LyX 2.2.0alpha2 can try at:

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
I installed LyX 2.1.4. on a Mac with El Capitan. When I insert a pdf or eps figure, LyX displays an error in converting the file; accordingly I can't see the figure in the software.
The output PDF is created without any problem.
Can anyone help with this issue?
