Fatal error: I can't write on file `...pdf'.

Post by mmrrsmith_0 »

Hi,
I stumbled upon some problem when compiling my thesis. There is an error:

Code: Select all

! I can't write on file `michal_kowal_nowe.pdf'.
Please type another file name for output
! Emergency stop.
<to be read again>
\endgroup \set@typeset@protect
l.94 ...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa \end{abstract}
*** (job aborted, file error in nonstop mode)
Here is how much of TeX's memory you used:
492 strings out of 493335
5634 string characters out of 3140925
58446 words of memory out of 3000000
4088 multiletter control sequences out of 15000+200000
5446 words of font info for 18 fonts, out of 3000000 for 9000
1141 hyphenation exceptions out of 8191
27i,4n,24p,141b,142s stack positions out of 5000i,500n,10000p,200000b,50000s
! ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced!
I tried to save my thesis in other tex file and create new PDF file, but it was the same after that. Additionally, there is some new GZ(busy) file corresponding to there new file in a catalogue where there files are. Could You help me with that? Big thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Make sure that your pdf-file is closed. Adobe reader protects pdfs from being overwritten.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Which editor are you using? And which PDF reader?

Delete the .pdf file, and try again. Reboot the computer (to remove a file lock), and try again.

The problem is Dropbox (or Drive)...
Check to move your LaTeX to other folder out of these clouds.... and try to compile it.
