Page Layout ⇒ Cannot use mla.sty

Hi everyone! This is my first question on this forum, so I probably won't supply the correct information the first time around. Forgive me.

I am having issues creating an MLA document using the mla.sty style. Every time I try to run LaTeX on this document, emacs returns an error at the line "\ifpdf." Any ideas on why this might happen? Thanks!
