Hej,
I'm trying to set a {tabular} environment with default inter-column spacing, but wit zero indentation of the left-most column: it needs to align with the body text.
Getting nowhere; anyone knows how to pull this off?
On a more general note, where can I find an overview of the lengths that LaTeX uses in the standard article and book classes? I'm getting rather tired of not knowing what to fiddle with to get the result I want.
thanks,
Niels

Horizontal spacing in tabular?
Put \noindent before the tabular environment (the space happens because it's trying to indent the paragraph, which in this case happens to start with a table). You could also comment out all blank lines preceding the tabular environment and include a line break after the text.
Here are some lengths (not a comprehensive list):
\baselineskip, \baselinestretch, \linewidth, \textwidth, \parindent, \parskip, \oddsidemargin, \evensidemargin, \topmargin, \headheight, \headsep, \textheight, \footskip, \abovecaptionskip, \belowcaptionskip, \textfloatsep, \paperheight, \paperwidth, \overfullrule, \leftmargini, \leftmarginii, \leftmarginiii (etc.), \labelsep, \labelwidth, \arraycolsep, \tabcolsep, \arrayrulewidth, \doublerulesep, \tabbingsep, \bibindent, \columnsep, \columseprule, \unitlength.
If you're looking for a list, you can use
