Hi,

I am kind of new to LaTeX. I have a problem about tableofcontents. I use MiKTeX 2.5 and TeXnicCenter. In my document I would like to add an ABSTRACT and I use
\begin{abstract} and \abstract comments. Unfortunately, in my table of contents the abstract cannot be seen. The same happens when I also add bibliography. My references cannot be seen in the Contents part. I have no idea how to fix it. I would be grateful if someone could help.

First of all, upgrade to MiKTeX 2.7 because version 2.5 is outdated and its repositories are closed. Afterwards tell us at least the used document class because some solutions may depend on that.

Hi Evrim,

welcome to the board!
You could use \addcontentsline or \addtocontents or the tocbibind package.

If you're using a KOMA class there would be other ways, as Thorsten mentioned.
