Text Formatting ⇒ Stretchable delimiters

When I type in the code for stretchable delimiters (parens, square brackets, curly brackets) I find that the one on the right hand side type sets to a greater length than its companion on the left, and is also several points lower. Has anyone else had this problem, and can you tell me how to solve it?

Very interesting problem, such a mismatch should not occur; there may be an issue in the code, possibly. Can you post a small minimal working example that shows the issue?
