How do I do it?

Postby Haba4568 » Fri Jun 29, 2018 2:21 pm

How to get a value of a variable? For example, I need to add vertical space of a size defined by \topsep. How do I do it?

welcome to the forum!

You can print it by \the, or by \showthe to the log file, or use it directly. Take a look:

  1. \documentclass{article}
  2. \begin{document}
  3. text
  5. \vspace{\topsep}
  6. text
  8. That was additonal space of \the\topsep.
  9. \end{document}
