Awesome Resume - How to use in TeXnicCenter

Postby melaniea » Mon Jan 01, 2018 3:20 pm

I downloaded the awesome resume template from

https://www.latextemplates.com/template ... -resume-cv

I am using TeXnicCenter and Windows 7. Currently when I run this template I get errors like "fatal fontspec error - can not use pdftex"

You cannot use this template with pdftex. You have to use XeLaTeX or LuaLaTeX.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Hello Melaniea,

welcome to the forum!

You have to choose an output profile (XeLaTeX) or create one, if it doesn't exist. simojoki wrote in Configuring Texnic Center to work with xetex:

Go to Build>Define Output Profiles. Click on "Add" (bottom left). Check "Run (La)TeX in this profile, click on browse button and navigate to your local xetex executable (in MikTeX 2.7 it's Program Files\MikTex 2.7\miktex\bin\xelatex.exe.

See also TeXnicCenter 2.0 Configuration.
