Turon thesis

Post by mindv0rtex »

I know that the beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but my personal all time favourite LaTeX-based thesis as far as attractiveness is concerned has been the one by Aaron Turon:
http://www.mpi-sws.org/~turon/turon-thesis.pdf

I, however, do not presently have the skill level necessary to reverse engineer the document. I've just figured I'll propose it to the LaTeX community and see what happens. :-)

Recommended reading 2024:

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

Welcome, the pdf states that it is a mix of classicthesis and tufte-latex, both are available on CTAN.

On the other hand, the mail address of the guy is available on the website, asking politely for an example might get you one.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

I have asked him already, only heard crickets back. I think I was polite enough :-)

Anyhow, I may have a stab at it at some point, unless someone comes up with a solution. With so many elaborate LaTeX packages in existence, it is all too easy to get used to everything being already implemented...
